š Eyes off the ball
A sad week in politics
My cartoon in todayās The Post, The Press and Waikato Times - here it is out in the wild
Te PÄti MÄori have broken apart. With the election just under a year away how will this play out and what will the left block do?

Cartoon. Title: Eyes off the ball
All the political parties are on the rugby pitch. Across the touch line it reads āElection 2026ā. Chris Bishop has the ball and is running close to the line cheering. We have Seymour, Mitchell, Simeon, Luxon, Stanford, Shane, Winston, Upston, Brooke - with the sign ācoalitionā.
Then we have Chippy, Marama, Tamatha, Chlƶe, McAnulty, Willie, Peeni, Duncan, Ayesha, Sepuloni, Ricardo and Steve Abel for Labour and the Greens.
And then at the top right a referee is running to the corner where Te PÄti MÄori are in a ruck fighting. Debbie and Hana-RÄwhiti are holding their party sign and John Tamihere, Mariameno, Kiri Tamihere waititi, Eru Kapa-Kingi are in a angry ruck and finally Ferris and Rawiri are in a tussle.
The turmoil is a lot to digest. Letās hope things are sorted and we can all get back to fighting the coalition and their policies.
Kia kaha,
Emma
